Kindergarten Programs *

3 TK/K Students

Studies show that children benefit from high quality, full-day Kindergarten programs. The Simi Valley Unified School District offers families throughout the district two full-day Kindergarten options, depending on your child’s age.

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and traditional Kindergarten classes are all-day classes taught by credentialed teachers with experience in early-childhood education in a safe and nurturing environment on elementary school campuses located throughout the district. All of our Kindergarten programs are free, as are student meals (breakfast and lunch).

TK programs are not part of the School of Choice program. Enrollment and student placement into schools for our TK programs are handled through the District Office.

Kindergarten programs are available at all of our elementary schools and our independent study school (Monte Vista School). Most schools offer School of Choice options for Kindergarten, and enrollment into your neighborhood school is always available.

There is more information provided on this page for both programs. Please contact Sendy Franco Oceguera in Educational Services at (805) 306-4500, Extension 4207 for assistance or to answer any questions about the TK or Kindergarten enrollment process.

We cannot wait to meet you!

TK Enrollment Package

Please use the links below to download the TK Enrollment Packets (English or Spanish), print and return to the District Office with the required attached documentation. We will make copies of the original documents for you at the District Office. If you cannot print the enrollment packet, we can provide you with a printed packet at the District Office. The District Office is located at 101 West Cochran Street, Simi Valley, CA, 93065. We are two blocks west of Madera Road, past Costco. Our office is open for TK business from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please be advised that in January and February the office gets busy with families submitting TK Enrollment Packets and you may need to wait for service.

Priority enrollment is open until March 20, 2026. Priority enrollment provides families with the best opportunity to be placed at their neighborhood or sibling attended school. However, class size and classroom space will determine enrollment capacity. Students whose enrollment packets are received after March 20, 2026 will be placed in TK classes based on the availability of space remaining.

Please contact Sendy Franco Oceguera in Education Services at (805) 306-4500, Extension 4207, for assistance or to answer any questions about the TK enrollment process.
